The college search is something that has changed greatly over the years between when us parents went to school and what the kids and their parents are going though now. However, a college fair is a great way to get an idea of what the different colleges offer. It is a good opportunity to collect information and talk with someone who can discuss the school and the environment that exists on campus.
The Northeast Ohio Suburban College Fair will be held at John Carroll University on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology on the campus of John Carroll University. The NEOS College Fair is offering a special half-hour presentation entitled “Navigating the College Search” prior to the start of the fair at 6 p.m. This will take place in the auditorium adjacent to the fair.
This event will feature representatives from approximately 130 colleges and universities to share information and speak with high school students and their parents about academic programs, admission criteria, scholarships, and more.
The organizers of this college fair have also put together a great guideline for kids to know what to expect and what they should do at the college fair. Don’t miss this list of Top Ten College Fair dos and donts to help get ready for your trip.
We know that college is getting increasingly expensive. As your students get ready to take on this challenge consider working with the Rebel Families group. Rebel Families does sponsor scholarships for students of parents who have been active in this group. This Tuesday, October 6th, is our next Rebel Families meeting and social hour. Consider attending these events. Ask about how your student can apply for a scholarship as a result of your participation in the group in support of our student body at Willoughby South High School.
